Letter to my mother for adapting with the new culture

Dear Mummy,


I am very glad to hear that you will come here. It has been about one year that I’ve been living in Sydney. I remember that you were very sad when I was leaving Jakarta. However, you don’t need to worry as my family and I are fine here. Through this letter I would like to inform you about Australian culture.

Australia is a multicultural country. Many people from all over the world live here. You will meet with many kinds of people, like from China, India, Italia, Indonesia, Thailand, etc. There are many languages spoken in public places such as in bus and train. There are also many kinds of foods from many countries. It’s easy to find Indonesian foods here. You won’t loose your favorite Indonesian foods.

Generally, Australians are friendly people. They like to talk about things rather than keeping quiet, therefore it is very important to speak with people whenever you have a chance. Don’t be afraid to ask when you are in doubt or need help.
Don't forget to make greetings to every one you meet.

You can also participate in aged community in our local church. You will make many friends there and share experience.
